The Porterfield Family

You know those people that you meet and instantly like? The Porterfields are those people.

From the minute I walked in their home, I felt at home! How could you not feel comfortable when you're greeted with smiles like these?

I love that they let me photograph everywhere in their home. I started out on their awesome couch in the living room, then moved to the master bedroom where I told them to be as casual as possible. I like when things come together and don't look too posed.

We also photographed in their daughter's room, where most of the time was spent sprawled out on the floor.

We also went outside for some photos and I'm especially happy with how the pictures turned out. Can't you just feel the love they have for each other?

Did I mention they like having fun? :)

This last set is my favorite! Little G was being tickled and was laughing hysterically!

A HUGE thanks to the Porterfield family!
I can't wait to see your smiling faces again soon!

baby on the way!

This gorgeous momma-to-be just happens to be my good friend Erica. She was so much fun to photograph because she was up for whatever (she's a good sport like that). The little one is due in a couple weeks and I can't wait to meet him or her. I've got so many ideas swirling around in my head for newborn pics and Erica has promised me that she is up for whatever I have in mind (I wasn't kidding when I said she's a good sport!).

mon petit Bella

I recently paid a post-op visit to a certain gallbladder-less kitty. I'm happy to report that mon petit Bella is recovering nicely. Her stomach staples were removed at the Seattle Veterinary Specialists last week and the vet said her fur should start growing back soon. This is great news, especially since she seems a little embarrassed about bearing so much skin. :)

family time!

Check out the adorable family I had the pleasure of photographing over the weekend:

I photograph a lot of families with young kids, so it was a fun change to work with adult kids! It was great that they were up for a bunch of fun shots and didn't mind walking around to different areas during the session. At one point we were down at the neighborhood park, trying to get a shot with Charlotte (the family pup), but she was pretty distracted. You should have seen me behind the camera...I was jumping up and down, clapping to get her to look at the camera. I think the rest of the family was laughing at me in this picture!

Thanks again Kneifel family! I hope you had as much fun as I did!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have so many things to be thankful for and my wonderful friends are at the top of the list. The ones that are on my mind right now are Gianba, Deborah, and their two adorable boys Oliver and Teddy. They're visiting from Venice, Italy and it's been great spending time with them. I love hearing them talk back and forth to each other in a mix of Italian and English! I was so excited when they told me they wanted family pics and I jumped at the chance to photograph their beautiful family.
