The Words Don't Fit :: Seattle Portrait Photographer
Just a quick post from me today since I have lots of packing to do before my photo excursion to New Mexcio in 2 days.
I saw this message written in lights while up in Vancouver, BC for the Olympics. I'm not sure if it was an advertisement or just art, but either way I really liked it & wanted to share.

Fashion Friday - KOMO news segment :: Seattle Fashion Photographer
It's no secret how much I love Sara Seumae and her clothing line Spun, so I was incredibly thrilled to help her out on Wednesday when she and Malia Peoples of Lady Konnyaku Clothing made an appearance on KOMO News 4 with eco-consumer Tom Watson for a segment on green fashion.
I'm used to photographing models, so it was definitely a change to be one. Here's what was going through my head during the taping: "Smile! Wait, that's too much. A little less and you'll be good. OK, I think you've got it. Now don't fidgit!"
You can check out the video (and my wait-that's-too-much smile) here:

new PaddyWag website :: Seattle Pet Photographer
As most of you know, my wonderful friend/fellow photographer Charity and I photograph pets under the name PaddyWag, and we're super excited to announce that PaddyWag finally has a website all it's own! Head over to PaddyWag.com and take a peek! We've been working diligently for the past 2 months solidifying our mission statement, perfecting our workflow, creating new products and revamping our portfolio. We're proud of what we've done and cannot wait to show it off to current and future PaddyWag clients.
Since blog posts are WAY more fun when there are pictures, here are a few of our long time client Maddison during her latest photo session.

2010 Vancouver Olympics :: Seattle Portrait Photographer
The streets were packed, TV's were up everywhere,
faces were painted,
store fronts received Olympic makeovers,
Olympic rings popped up around every corner,
street vendors were everywhere (including this group of people giving out free hugs),
there was cheering & crying in the streets when Canada defeated USA in the gold medal hockey game,
and there were unique fans everywhere!
I feel very privileged to have been in Vancouver and had so much fun taking part in the festivities!

french toast for breakfast :: Seattle Portrait Photographer
All this sunny weather has me very excited about summer fruit, so it seemed appropriate to put together a french toast breakfast piled high with strawberries and raspberries. Oh, and lots of powdered sugar.
Mmmm... :)

30 before 30 :: Seattle Portrait Photographer
When one of my best friends mentioned a list he made detailing the things he wanted to accomplish before he reached a certain age, I thought he was genius and I wanted to jump in the game as well.
In no particular order (other than Egypt which is definitely #1), here are the 30 things I want to do before I turn 30.
1) travel to Egypt
2) travel to Easter Island
3) travel to Sweden and visit the town where my Great Grandparents lived
4) travel to Japan
6) print a book filled with the photos I take on all these trips
7) fly in a helicopter
11) complete a ½ marathon
12) drive a motorcycle
13) rent a condo or apartment near a California beach for at least a week & relax, relax, relax
14) take a surfing lesson
15) have boudoir photos taken
18) go white water rafting
20) finally go to Mt St Helens (I’m a bad Washingtonian)
21) attend a photography workshop
22) try snowboarding
25) go parasailing
26) visit lava fields in Hawaii
27) score a goal in one of my hockey games (not just during a pick-up game)
30) go polar bearing
If anyone has suggestions for the best spots to visit in the places I want to go, or helpful hints on accomplishing these things, or want to join me in some of these quests, let me know. :)
